And even more bags!

Bags have been my obsession for the past few weeks. Have done a few paper crafts, but forgot to take pictures before I gave them away - oops!! Anywho, two new styles here with the round bamboo handles. Very cute. The round handles are a little tricky to attach, so this style is going to take some perfecting. Again - very cool fabric

Bags!!!!

Some bags I have made over the past few weeks. They are currently being road tested by family. So far, so good! And, all of this fabric is from my grandmother - how awesome is that? Found out this weekend that my dad had a slamming pair of bellbottoms made out of the green paisley. Oh to have lived in the 70s!

Just for Fun

Alston sent me this email today & I thought it was funny enough to share. Enjoy the laughs!

Getting married before you are 25 is like picking a movie to rent from the A-F aisle in a video store without checking anywhere else. Yeah you skipped "You Got Served", but you also skipped "Indiana Jones", "The Godfather", and sex with other people.

The thing I admire about the rat tail is that it takes commitment. It's not like one day you just decide you want one, you have to grow out that bad boy and you have to repeatedly convince the hairdresser to trust you because it's a great idea.

More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can’t wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that’s not only better, but also more directly involves me.

Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!

Quit calling yourself fat if you are clearly not fat. I am not going to say you're not anymore. I'm just going to nod and make that ehhhh kinda sound.

"Seemed like a good idea at the time" is always the right answer.

I have a hard time understanding commercials for TVs that try to show how vivid the picture is on their brand of TVs. I'm still watching your commercial on my shitty one.

In Home Depot today I saw a product called "Liquid Tape.” That sounds an awful lot like glue....

It might look like I'm enjoying the cool music on my iPod with my headphones on, but I'm secretly listening to your conversation.

Hey eyelid twitch - thanks for fulfilling my life long dream of looking like a serial killer about to go on a rampage.

"If you could get this turned in by tonight that would be great, but really anytime next week is fine." Next Friday it is then.

Whenever it's below freezing, and you see a girl walking to the bar without a coat on, you should definitely make a move on her. You already know she's into bad decisions.

Dear Pringles, Now that I am no longer a child, I can no longer fit my hand inside your tube of deliciousness. Work on that.

Weekend Creations

Some of what I created this weekend -

Pillows for the hammock - love the retro country chic fabric! I thoroughly enjoyed these pillows Sunday afternoon (of course with New Moon - second time through the Twilight series)

Wall art - Terri found this fabric at Jo-Ann's on the clearance rack - Can you believe it?!? It's gorgeous.

Theses are the first totes I've made & I think they turned out pretty good:) I have ordered bamboo curved handles, but used the dowels to get an idea of what it would look like. The navy & green floral one has contrasting greenpolka dot lining, making it easier to see into the big hole. I also added pockets on the inside of of the navy one - next time I'll add a few more.

These bags are oversized - just how i like them! Also will be great beach bags. As stated in previous posts, I have TONS of fabric, so let me know if you want a bag! I also have enough of the navy floral fabric for probably 3 or 4 more bags this size. I'll post other designs as I create them.

First Ready Made Baby Book

Last weekend I finished my first ready to use Baby Book. It is a fully designed scrapbook ready for pictures and journaling. I love the way it turned out!! Ali had picked out nursery colors of brown, pink, orange for her little girl, which suits my tastes perfectly:) It was such a joy to do this for her & I can't wait to see it fill up over the next year. I left three pages for messages from friends & family (we set out blank card stock at the shower) and the rest are blank for pictures of Emme and her beautiful family. Here are some pictures of the final product:

Cute cake! Made by Ali's cousin:

NC Wine Festival

This past Saturday was the NC Wine Festival in Clemmons. Chance planned to do the 3 Mountain Madness up Pilot Mountain, so of course that gave me a great excuse to go the Wine Festival. It was so much fun! 37 wineries, all different wines, and plenty of Scuppernong & Muscadine - my favorite! Here's a list of my favorites:

  1. McRitchie Winery - the Hard Cider is truly awesome. James like the Ring of Fire Red, I believe. It was very tasty:)
  2. Thistle Meadow - Bonny Black & Sweet Holler White. They also have a sweet Orange wine, but I can't find the exact name on their website. Check it out if you go to their winery - it was unusual & delicious!
  3. Duplin - Sunset Red. I have always been a big Duplin fan, so I tried something I had never had. It was a good choice!
  4. Chateau Laurinda - This is the only stop where we actually purchased a bottle. Or, two actually:) Roman Delight (a semi-sweet green apple) to go & Jessie & I split a bottle of Sangria over Chicken Salad in the shade. The Perfect compliment to a perfect day!
And some pictures from the festival:

That is about how much of a taste you get of each wine -

People lined up at the wine tents:

Absolutely worth the $20 ticket - check it out next year!
